To our communities: The ACLU of Connecticut stands in solidarity with our immigrant and migrant communities. In Connecticut, we are all indeed one united, multicultural, multiracial community. The United States must be a beacon of hope and freedom where people come to enhance their livelihood and find safety and inclusion.

The ACLU was the first to sue on the birthright citizenship executive order this week, and in Connecticut our staff has prioritized connecting with thousands of people in every corner of the state about the rights of immigrant families to impacted communities, business owners, clergy, health care workers, educators, food bank workers, municipal leaders, and others. We are in the courthouse, the statehouse, and in the streets and communities fighting for you every day.

No matter your immigration status, family preparedness planning and knowing your rights are the most important things you can do to be empowered. Do not give in to paralysis, fear, or inaction. The ACLU of Connecticut and our many advocacy and community partners stand with you.
