End Discrimination in Reentry: A Community Conversation in New Haven

April 18, 2019 @ 6:00 pm
April 19, 2019 @ 7:45 pm

Join the ACLU of Connecticut Smart Justice campaign, State Representative Robyn Porter, and more for a community conversation about stopping discrimination against people on the basis of their criminal record.

Everyone deserves a second chance, and all of us are safer when people have that chance to succeed. But right now, Connecticut doesn’t do enough to help people reentering society after incarceration. Connecticut residents with a criminal record face more than 600 legal barriers to successfully reentering society, including barriers to housing, employment, and education.

Join us on Thursday, April 18th at 6 pm at the Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church in New Haven for a Community Conversation on Ending Discrimination for people impacted by the justice system.

FEATURING:

  • State Representative Robyn Porter
  • Pastor Darrell Brooks
  • Barbara Fair, My Brother's Keeper
  • Anne Harper, Instructor, The Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health
  • Chandra Bozelko, Vice President, National Society of Newspaper Columnists
