Calling all artists who support civil rights and liberties in Connecticut!
On January 1st, we will debut a collection of Connecticut-based art on our website.
The theme of this call is FREE EXPRESSION.
The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech and the ability to protest.
Protest is a sacred right to the ACLU and our supporters, and expression of these values through the arts is a timeless method of activism and advocacy. Share your civil rights and liberties themed art with us.
Express your freedom and yourself — send us your poems, short essays, visual art, musical performances or short video art. We will post the most outstanding ones here on January 1st, and will share them on our socials @acluct.
Submissions are due December 20th.
Please email your artistic expression to media@acluct.org to be included. Use the subject line “Free Expression”. Include your name and contact information, location, and a short artist bio if you like.
Please send questions to media@acluct.org. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
* While we intend to debut all received art, we reserve the right to showcase a selection of what we receive. We will contact you if/when your art debuts.
* Connecticut-based civil rights and liberties advocates are encouraged to submit their artistic works. If you are not based in Connecticut, please share with us your state or location.
